Project Brief
Bengaluru, once sustained by a network of a thousand lakes, now grapples with water scarcity and ecological imbalance. Urbanization has silenced its wetlands, leading to flooding, biodiversity loss, and reliance on a costly water system spanning 100 kilometers. The brief examines urban waters—the web of water, ecology, and human intervention. It spotlights the urgent challenges of wetland degradation while envisioning a future where urban development coexists with restored, thriving natural ecosystems.

It harnesses the tiny layer of odonates, the bioindicator guardians of wetlands, to create big waves for conservation. Interactive digital and print media showcase dragonfly and damselfly species with fun, visually rich, and accessible content to inspire curiosity, shift perceptions toward insects. This model can be extrapolated to protect and celebrate wetland biodiversity across spatial contexts.

Designed an intro scroll animation with fun storytelling, using characterized illustrations and motifs to represent wetlands. Users are provided with clear, concise information about the three sections (Learn, Interact and Social Bug), tailored for diverse demographics and use cases.

A handwritten font adding playfulness and approachability is used along with a monospaced font that conveys scientific credibility and enhances readability of information.
